Apple Wants to Buy Your Chip Provider to Have More Control over Them

As all company concerned with the quality of its products, Apple wants to have maximum control of all the components that are devices which designed, called Macbook, Mac Pro, or iPhone. Despite the effort that puts you, the complexity of the design of the devices, Apple has to take care to outside companies production and design of most of their components, something that looks like that it will begin to change as you talk you are looking to buy one of its suppliers of chips.

Renesas SP Drivers is the enterprise aim that Apple wants to buy in the medium term. This Japanese company is responsible for manufacturing chips that control the image quality of the liquid screens, as well as the amount of battery that they consume when they are being used. The Japanese manufacturer is currently the leader in production of drivers for small and medium-sized LCDs and is a company formed by three trade agreement: Renesas Electronics, Sharp and the Taiwanese Powerchip. Apparently both Sharp and Powerchip would be willing to sell if Apple finally managed to reach an agreement with Renesas Electronics, the owner of 55% of the company and whose participation is that Apple would be interested in a first moment.

The acquisition of Renesas SP Drivers would be a disbursement to Apple more than $ 500 million but would mean a step forward in the control of production of its components, something from Cupertino are looking for long time and have not got yet. Telling that the Japanese company is the main distributor of the chip that controls the LCD of the iPhone, is expected to make sooner rather than later the purchase attempt.
